There are now three different Fediverse nodes on two different networks to support #
TheRON and W3PBS.
Mastodon, Lemmy and Streams each serve a different purpose, and its the proper way to build and sustain complex networks. Unlike META (Facebook) that tries to be everything for everyone, and even then the Corporation is still not satisfied and tries to overtake Fediverse. Thanks to Mike Macgirvin and everyone who helped create META block.
Just because we can federate it does not mean we must connect to anyone outside of our local scope.
Currently on the Fediverse this is not a priority or even considered important by many, but for #
TheRON and within W3PBS this matters greatly. Local scope is more manageable and its more compatible with more people.
We are not against global scope, this is not a tis-or-tat ultimatum. We are only trying to implement a more limited scope in geography which is VERY important in real-life. One would wonder how and why Fediverse technology is not developed to at least acknowledge it.
I am just one guy and I work a daytime job to earn a living, so configuring these three forums going to keep me busy for a while. But if you have a compatible purpose I'm happy to discuss.
